On Saturday, November 21, I was in charge of styling a photoshoot. Since the theme was Africa, I chose a creme colored blouse from Forever 21, Lucky Brand green khaki cargo pants, and black combat boots for the model Michele Goodyear. The accessories I added were a bold green necklace and dark green pendent ring. The background of the set included two animal print fabrics; cheetah and zebra. I chose for the model's hair to be small curls since that seemed to add emphasis to the African safari theme. After about 40 minutes of shots by photographer Bob Toy, the shoot ended and my instructor Somer Flaherty chose the best 7 shots. From those 7 I chose one single shot that I thought was the most amazing. (The picture above!) Overall, the shoot was incredibly fun and I love the final picture. :)

Somewhere, Over the Rainbow...

Ever feel like taking the day off and just throwing on flip flops? These Rainbow Sandals are perfect for the occasion because they are not only easy to wear but also super comfy. Forming to the mold of your feet, these nylon and leather flip flops are by far the most cozy sandals out there. You can buy them now at the Tilly's website.

Torso Vintage

Located on 272 Sutter St. in San Francisco, California, Torso is an amazing vintage clothing store that has been collecting timeless clothing, shoes, and accessories for 20 years. Torso works with celebrity stylists, and shows off favorite pieces in annual trunk shows in LA and New York. Shaun, an extremely friendly employee at Torso, has been with the store since it opened 20 years ago. His favorite pieces include a black and pink Scaasi velvet dress from the 60s (second picture), a gorgeous gold Terri Millar dress (third picture), a yellow and gold beaded original 60s dress (fourth picture), and a purple Oscar de la Renta drop back dress (fifth picture). The oldest piece in the store is an extremely beautiful costume piece from the late 1800s (last picture). For more vintage clothing and accessories from Torso, visit 1stDibs.com. Ashley Morgan Jewelry

Behind the incredible jewelry line Ashley Morgan is the Bay Area based Ashley Berman. At a very young age Ashley became passionate about jewelry when her mom let her play with her deceased great-grandmother’s vintage collection of jewelry. Later on she made friendship bracelets and eventually started a business in high school doing bead working. When small storeowners started picking up her line, Berman knew she was ready for the next level. After enrolling in gold-smithing school at Revere Academy in San Francisco, where she learned all about designing and creating beautiful jewelry, she was ready to create her own jewelry line. She not only designs beautiful, one of a kind pieces, but also creates many custom pieces when customers have special ideas in mind, especially about engagement rings and wedding bands. When the client has something in mind she pulls stones that go along with the idea and uses sketches and wax carvings to communicate, and eventually hand creates a one of a kind piece. Ashley’s favorite pieces to create are rings, although she also loves bracelets and necklaces, and she uses things from the outside world, like lace and real feathers, for inspiration. She says, "Using a 3D object for inspiration gives more body to the piece." Overall Ashley Berman’s amazing jewelry line is perfect for one of a kind, quality pieces. Her website shows all of her pieces, and will be relaunched soon to show her newest creations.

Fringe Is In
Fringe is definitely in, and you can easily wear it in sandals (this pair is adorable but also check out Kenneth Cole Reaction 'Sun Bali' Sandals.) For colder weather try Minnetonka Fringed Tall Boots.
Don't Let It Rain On Your Parade
There aren't many things that are worse than ruining brand new shoes in the rain. Rain boots are the perfect solution to keeping your toes nice and dry, and will save you from ruining a brand new pair of shoes. I love this pair of light pink ones, however the new Navy Blue Shower Rain Boots, also from Juicy Couture, are much easier to wear because they will easily blend with many outfits.
